Terms and conditions

1. The Promoter

The promoter is: RiverCruising.co.uk part of the Travel Village Group of 298 Highfield Road, Blackpool, FY4 3JU.

2. The competition

2.1.The title of the competition is Win a 7-night river cruise with Riviera Travel

.2.2. Our entry mechanics include online subscriptions to our RiverCruising.co.uk marketing database.

3. How to enter

3.1.Competition dates

The competition will run from 02/09/24 (the "Opening Date") to 28/02/2025 (the "Closing Date") inclusive.

3.2.Competition entry deadline

All competition entries must be received by the Promoter [at the address set out at condition 1] no later than 23:59 on the Closing Date. All entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

3.3.To enter the competition:

Enter the competition online by subscribing to one of our relevant email marketing databases. Must submit your subscription form using the online entry form provided on RiverCruising.co.uk by 28 February 2025.

3.4.No purchase necessary

No purchase necessary and there is no charge to register for use of the website.

3.5.The Promoter will not accept:

Competition entries: responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.

By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

3.9.Judging criteria

The competition entries will be placed into a random online winner generator. The decision of the Travel Village Group will be final.

4. Eligibility

4.1.Competition residents

The competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over, except:

(a)employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies;

(b)Promoter's employees

employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or

(c)Family members

Members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.

4.2.Eligibility to enter

In order to enter the competition, you confirm that you are eligible and eligible to claim any prize that may be awarded. The Promoter may require proof of eligibility in order to enter the competition.

4.3.[The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are:

(a)automatically generated by computer;

(b)completed by third parties or in bulk;

(c)illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;

(d)photocopies and not originals; or

(e)incomplete.]

4.4.Limit of one entry

There is a limit of [one entry per household OR one entry per person]. [Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.]

4.5.Disqualification

The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of this prize competition.

5. The prize

5.1.Number of prizes

One prize.

5.2. Travel agent

Your prize is provided by the Travel Village Group of 298 Highfield Road, Blackpool, FY4 3JU, in conjunction with APT.

5.3. Prize details

a) The winning entrant will win a 7-night Riviera Travel European river cruise (excluding river cruises on the Douro) for two adults, twin share, travelling in July or August 2025.

b) The prize includes:

• Seven nights’ accommodation aboard a Riviera River Cruise ship, based on two people sharing a standard cabin.
• Return travel between the UK and the ships port.
• All meals on board from the dinner on the day of arrival to breakfast on the day of departure
• All excursions included as advertised in the cruise itinerary.
• Complimentary on-board tea and coffee;
• Complimentary on-board Wi-Fi;
• Drinks package – Local wine, beer and soft drinks during lunch then from 6pm until midnight:
Includes regional wine (other brands can be purchased) beers, sprits, port, brandy, sherry, cocktail of the day, soft drinks and juices.
• Port charges and airport taxes.
• Services of Riviera Cruise director.

c) The prize is valid for travel (where possible) on scheduled departures in July & August 2025 (but must travel by 30 October 2025) and is subject to availability at the time of booking.

d) All cruises are subject to availability.

e) The prize does not include travel between the winner’s home and the UK airport or Eurostar station, travel insurance, gratuities, personal expenditure or incidental costs, beverages and any other food and drink that are not part of the package outlined above.

f) It is the responsibility of the winner to ensure they and their guest each has a valid passport and travel insurance and obtain any necessary visas for their trip.

g) This prize draw is only open to UK residents, excluding employees and agents of (a) Riviera Travel or (b) any company connected with the production or distribution of this promotion, as well as their relatives or members of their family or household.

h) There will be one winner who will be selected in a random draw from all eligible entries.

i) Rivercruising.co.uk will notify the winner along with details of how to accept their prize. Failure by the winner to accept the prize within 5 days of being notified, will make any claim invalid.

j) The winner and their companion must travel together at all times during their holiday.

k) The winner and their guest must adhere to the government’s travel advice.

l) The prize is non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.

m) If you wish to upgrade your cabin this will be at an additional amount paid for by the winner.

n) Should the winner be unable to accept the prize package for any reason then they will automatically forfeit their claim to the prize.

o) By entering you agree to your details being passed to and processed by Riviera Travel in line with their privacy policy.

p) The booking will be subject to Riviera Travel’s booking terms and conditions, as outlined at https://www.rivieratravel.co.uk/docs/terms

q) Entrants must be aged 18 years or over at the time of entry. Proof of eligibility must be provided upon request. By entering the promotion you are deemed to accept and be bound by these terms and conditions.

r) Events may occur that render the prize draw itself or the awarding of the prize impossible due to reasons beyond the control of Riviera Travel. Accordingly Riviera Travel may, at its absolute discretion, vary or amend the prize and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to Riviera Travel as a result thereof.

s) Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are the responsibility of the winner(s).

5.4. Claiming prize

In order to claim the prize you must respond to our email communication within 5 days of announcement. RiverCruising.co.uk will contact you directly by email to confirm you have won. You will have 5 days from the date of email communication to respond and claim your prize.

6. Winners

6.1. Final decision

The decision of the Promoter or the judges nominated by the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

6.2. Contact the winner

The Promoter will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the email address provided with the competition entry.

6.3. Publishing winners

The Promoter must publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will publish the surname and county of prize winner on our Travel Village Group email newsletter(s) and Website(s) on 31/03/2025 (Announcement Date).

6.4.Objections to publication

If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

7. Claiming the prize

7.1. Claiming the prize

If you are the winner of the prize, you will have 5 days from the Announcement Date to claim the prize by sending a written declaration, in accordance with condition. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim will become invalid.

7.2. Third-party claims

The prize cannot be claimed by a third party on your behalf.

7.3. Claiming prize

If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within 30 days of the Announcement Date, then the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to an eligible entrant selected from among those entries that were received before the Closing Date.

7.4. Promoter not responsible

The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

8. Limitation of liability

Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors (whether acting in their individual capacity or as part of a group) or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

9. Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights

9.1. Competition entry

All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoter will become the property of the Promoter on receipt and will not be returned.

9.2. Competition entry

By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material, you agree to:

a) Assign to the Promoter all your intellectual property rights with full title guarantee; and

b) waive all moral rights, in and to your competition entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.]

9.3. Competition entry

You agree that the Promoter may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website www.rivercruising.co.uk and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide (for a period of 5 years), irrevocable licence to use, display, publish (including transmitting and copying), copy (including altering), store (including re-formatting) and sublicense the competition entry.

10. Data protection and publicity

10.1. Personal information

The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the https://www.rivercruising.co.uk/privacy-policy/. See also condition 6.3 and condition 6.4, with regard to the announcement of winners.

11. General

11.1. Breach of terms

If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, suspend or terminate your participation in the competition.

11.2. Promoter's right

If it becomes necessary to do so, the Promoter reserves the right to void, suspend, cancel or amend the prize competition.

11.3. Governing law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
